Moving business forward
Sian Riley, Director of Red Pepper Nutrition said: “I’m delighted with the survey results and in particular with the findings that Red Pepper Nutrition has a good reputation amongst case managers.
The survey was important because I wanted to find out how best to move the business forward during such a challenging and changing time for small businesses. These results are very encouraging and now mean that Red Pepper Nutrition can focus on building on our reputation to meet the continued and growing need for dietetic involvement in multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams.”
Sian added: “I’d like to thank BOOST for their work and identifying where our business currently stands as well as supporting us to move forward. I am looking forward to building on the positive survey results to ensure Red Pepper Nutrition is sustainable as a business and continues to offer high-quality and effective dietetic recommendations to those in rehabilitation.”
Rewarding project
Dr Jane Tonge, Director of BOOST Communications & Training said: “This was a very rewarding business research project to work on and I’d like to thank Red Pepper Nutrition for the opportunity to be involved from start to finish, from designing the online survey and devising research questions to distribution and analysis. Our final Survey Report also identified key areas where the results can support Red Pepper Nutrition and I look forward to working with Sian Riley to implement these further and develop the business.”
Research benefits available to savvy small businesses
Jane added: “I believe that research should inform practice as it takes the ‘guesswork’ out of business decision-making which can often be based on hunches, assumptions and subjective experience rather than data and evidence. The Red Pepper Nutrition Case Manager Survey is an excellent example as the results will now directly inform business planning and enable Sian to make informed decisions about the future direction of her business, based on the views, needs and requirements of an influential group of referrers.
This project demonstrates that the benefits of research are not just for large organisations with big budgets, but available to savvy small businesses who understand that research can yield important data to develop their business and invest in future practice.”
