NEWS: BOOST Director to Deliver Online Lecture in USA

Oct 26, 2020

BOOST Director Dr Jane Tonge has been invited to deliver an online Guest Lecture to the University of Kentucky, joining an impressive line-up of speakers from New York, Washington and Nashville and organisations such as The Wall Street Journal.

Exploring Corporate Reputation

Called: “Is PR the Guardian of Corporate Reputation?”, Dr Tonge’s guest lecture will explore why corporate reputation matters, the must-have building blocks and attributes needed for a strong and successful reputation, and the role of public relations practitioners in its protection and development.

Dr Tonge was invited to speak by Marc Whitt, Director of Media and Strategic Relations in the Department of Integrated Strategic Communication at the University of Kentucky as part of a Winter course for senior students examining ‘Issues, Trends and Professional Development in Public Relations’.

Speakers from across the USA... and Manchester, UK!

The course runs from December – January and will do a deep dive into the public relations profession by exploring and discussing such topics and issues as corporate and nonprofit PR, crisis management, diversity and equity in the PR profession, media relations, a career with a PR agency and more.

Invited PR professionals are speaking from New York City, Kansas City, Missouri, Washington, Nashville and Lexington and representing organizations such as The Wall Street Journal, ALS Foundation, University Business Magazine, Shaping Our Appalachian Region and Lighthouse Counsel as well as BOOST Communications and Training from Manchester, England.

Dr Tonge said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to speak to the next generation of PR and communications practitioners in the USA and discuss key issues regarding corporate reputation which affects every single company. It’s wonderful to be asked to deliver this lecture and I’m looking forward to meeting the students online as well as answering their questions about working in PR and communications in the UK.”

Dr Tonge's guest lecture will take place on Thursday 17 December 2020 at 11.00pm UK time!
